Marin County Interior Designer. I first came to Marin County form San Francisco to do the Retail Store Design and Interior Design of two Aca Joe stores. One was on Bridgeway in Sausalito, and the other in Corta Madera at The Village. I took a friend from New York to Sausalito, and he insisted we go to Tiburon Sam’s. Upon arrival I was surprised and greated by an old friend, so I imecdiateely thought Friendly place.
While my wife and I and our baby daughter Joy lived in Pacific Heights, we would come to Marin for better weather, asunnier and less Fog. Eventually we moved to Tiburon, thinking about schools for Joy and Tiburon being more afordable than PacHeights.
Life Expectancy is the highest in the state. Marin County people are usually very healthy, there are great medical facilities, Gyms, and Outdoor activities.
My small design firm was International with a lot of work in the Mexican resort destinations, Acapulco, Cancun, PV, etc. First, I was also working in 30 States doing the Aca Joe stores, as well as some in Europe, and I felt like I was doing no Interior Design work in Marin. So I decided to do a room at the Marin Designer Showcase. I did a bathroom as they paid for it as a permanent room. Then they invited me the following year to do rthe Master Bathroom a 400 sf room.

The Villa Altura Master Bath was the showstopper and got me invited to tther San Francisco Decorators Showcase. I was hooked and wanted to do more Residential projects in Marin County, my backyard. Although I wanted to do more in Marin County, consequently reducing my comute time, I would still travel regularly to the Mexican Caribbean for work on a regular basis, like once a month, for ten years. So my goal was to do more in Marin and less abroad.
Additionally Marin County is so beautiful I wanted to spend more time here. Most people that move to Marin enjoy the outdoors, they all do high king in the Marin headland and the GG National recreartion park. If you can see the Ocean, the Bay or the mountains it becomes a lifestyle.
Condominium Apartments in Belvedere Tiburon

My next project was a Condominium Apartment with a Watwerview in Belvedere Tiburon. The unit hadn’t been remodeled in 30 years so we had to do everything including a structural change and gutting the unit. Everything would be new. The owners were Austrian so it was convenient as they were away most of the time during the process. Furthermore we agreed on everything. So they were very happy and we remained close since. Time went by and we did a second Condominium Apartment in Belvedere Tiburon, this time on Main Street half a block from Sam’s Cafe on the Waterfront. He was in a wheelchair so that was part of the challenge, however not a big one. First, the client said the Bath would be done, second I said I’ll do it too. Larkspur, Marin County. Kitchen Family room, and homes.
Right on the Lagoon Waterfront with a boat access. The owners had their Furniture aand Art, so all we did was the Interiors. Nevertheless we did Structural cxhnages. The assess to the Living or Family area shown below, from the Foyer was less than 36″ wide (on the left Now). Let alone Code and Comfort, the water view and feeling was constrained. so we widened it to abot 6′ or doubled it. Great value. Applied a Venetian Stucco to all the walls. An Art track, and a Neo Angled TV Fireplace combination. As a result it look much better.
Also in Larkspur by the Creek we did a home with curved furniture, and curved everything and all Blue as the accent Color. First the couple is from Chicago, but second interestingly she was raised in Larkspur so now their second home in coming back. We have done several projects in Corte Madera over the years. They include a Home and Workshop Studio where we have been working for about 7 years. The Hose Architecture had just been done and it ws very good first, however for a few year the clients lived without an Interior Design concept or style and for that matter furniture and finishes, we gradually improve one area and then another. We are oftewn called to Remodel Homes master planning the entire homes and lots and now also the ADU location. Then we might Focus on an area. First, Architecture is different than Interior Design, not only Volumetrically speaking first, but second, more ambitious and expensive so half of these projects don’t mateialize or take years to do so, and we may even lose track.
Incidentally Marin County’s Architecture has at least two notable Masterpiece Building I recommend you visit.

It is certainly an advatage to be an Architect as well, while working on the Interior Design dreams of our client, particularly because the best ideas are implanted. Not always like if you are flipping you might not wnt to go all the way, but if you will also live there fore a long time and you can afford the change we encourage it.
One of two Homes at Via Paraiso East, Belvedere-Tiburon
We Designed two Homes in Via Paraiso, in Belvedere Tiburon, both completed. Both were initially designed to comply and obtain Planning approval, and then during the process we made numerous improvents to them too. Thse two homes are adjacent and were completed at different times. Both were initially more Edwardian East Coast, however we turned to Mediterranean, more Calidfornia Style. New homes Architecture and Remoeling Projects.
Otern Interiors.
Sometimes Interiors do not get immediately completed but also take time, like when the client is having other priorities or economic changes and so on. But they usually come back to finish. An example is this Home Library in Belvedre Tiburon, we only just Designed and hope to complete soon.
