Cancun Waterfront Villa Architecture

CANCUN WATERFRONT VILLA ARCHITECTURE.

ARCHITECTURE DESIGN BY JERRY JACOBS DESIGN

Cancun Waterfront Villa Architecture is a blog about the Waterfront homes we have designed in Cancun. While two homes  sit together,  they are different sizes and designed and built at a different time. We also include two other Cancun Waterfront Villa Architecture projects which were not completed.

The two completed ones sit together though built years apart. They are a  two level 12,000 ft2 home designed on a double front lot,  and  4 level 8,000 ft2 home both sit on the Lagoon waterfront facing west and within Isla Dorada Cancun.

Villa Arcadia.

Villa Arcadia the larger of the two Villas, built 6 years earlier, had to be approved for additional Villa Architecture height, our argument was it was the only Villa on two lots, and that it couldn’t hurt to vary a little. When Villa Arcadia was designed and approved and later built it was the tallest structure at Isla Dorada. It does have a very small underground level on one wing only for service quarters and equipment rooms. Being half underground only and raising the ground floor. The lots in this development are almost water level, and we like to provide additional safety against flooding by raising the entry levels.

The symmetrical composition is very Palladian and Neoclassic, while we try to incorporate features of local Colonial Architecture and Tropical felling. It has been said that you cannot combine Palladian and specifically the Mizner Florida style with the vast amounts of Glass that is functional and contemporary and that takes the most advantage of views. The asset you pay extra for.

A FRIEND HAD A SMALL APARTMENT, HIS SECOND HOME, ON THE BEACH. HE BOUGHT A WATERFRONT LOT AND ASKED ME TO DESIGN HIS NEW HOME. THE ADJACENT LOT BECAME  AVAILABLE ALLOWING TWICE THE HOME SIZE, AND ASKED MY OPINION….. I OFFERED TO DESIGN TWICE THE HOUSE FOR THE SAME FEE, AN OFFER HE COULD NOT REFUSE. WE DID A 10,000 SQ FT HOME, WITH A MASTER SUITE, JUNIOR SUITES FOR EACH OF 4 CHILDREN, GUEST STUDIO, HOME THEATER, AND A 65′ LONG VANISHING EDGE DEMI-LUNE POOL MADE SENSE, A GRANDPARENTS HOME.

VILLA HAVANA. THE SIBLING.
THEN THE OTHER NEXT DOOR LOT SOLD AND THE REALTOR CALLED TO LET ME KNOW THE NEW OWNERS WANTED A HOUSE SIMILAR TO VILLA ARCADIA, WOULD I OBLIGE. IN A SINGLE LOT A LITTLE MORE DENSITY. A THREE LEVEL TOWNHOUSE, ABOUT 6000 SQ FT

I’m interested in all aspects of Art, Architecture, Design and History. Though a Contemporary minimalist, I love styles such as Art Deco, Bauhaus, Neoclassical and Palladian. I like to describe my design style as Classic Simplicity. I believe in Philanthropic causes, giving back and helping others… and in giving back to the community and to the planet through Sustainable practices.
